R J Construction have just completed an amazing update to our kitchen/dining room. From start to finish the project was managed efficiently, always keeping us updated on issues and progress. All of the team were hard working, friendly and courteous. Any problems or concerns were dealt with immediately. We had Rob and the team from RJ Construction  remove a load bearing wall and install a RSJ to allow for open plan kitchen dining area. Rob completed all of the necessary planning application paperwork on our behalf and liaised with the structural engineer which meant the whole process was seamless. The work was completed efficiently and to an exceptionally high standard. The end result is exactly what we wanted. Rob and the team have vast experience and are extremely knowledgeable and  professional. Rob went above and beyond. A lifeline after a nightmare — couldn't recommend more highly. We came to RJ Construction in a really difficult position — we'd been abandoned by a previous builder partway through our extension, leaving us with substandard work that needed to be pulled back and remedied before the project could even properly begin. James, Rob and the entire team took all of that in their stride. What we realised most was how genuine, hard working and experienced James and Rob are. The team were on site every day, always available to answer questions, and genuinely engaged in finding solutions to help us achieve what we wanted. And when they weren't on site we could reach them by phone or message at any time. For a project with so many added complications — undoing poor previous work, managing a large extension build, and doing all of this while we continued living in the property and needed a functioning kitchen throughout — their professionalism and communication were exceptional. Having a local firm also meant they have relationships with local suppliers and planning and building inspector which really makes a world of difference. This wasn't a straightforward job, and they never treated it like one. They understood the complexity and handled every challenge without fuss. If you're looking for a reliable, skilled and genuinely honest building company in Maidstone, look no further than RJ Construction. We would not hesitate to recommend them for any project, big or small but especially if you want a high quality extension completed by a skilled and experienced team than. We recently had our lintels replaced and couldn’t be happier with the work. From the start Rob was really knowledgeable and even suggested installing a larger back door lintel so we have the option of fitting a bigger back door in the future, which was a great idea we hadn’t thought of. During the job he uncovered an issue with the top lintels which made the work more complicated than expected and meant new lintels had to be fabricated. Despite the extra challenge, it was handled professionally and completed to a really high standard. All of the brickwork was repaired and blended in so that it doesn’t stand out. He also gave us helpful advice about getting the house repointed before we replace the windows, which shows he genuinely cares about the overall job rather than just the work he was doing. Communication was excellent throughout and he kept us updated the whole time. Really friendly guy too – treated us more like good mates than just customers. Rob and his team did a fantastic job of putting in my gallows brackets and removal of the stack. He kept me informed all the way through and was clean and tidy. He was also very helpful and gave me lots of advice as I am renovating my house.
